In Chinese culture, dragons symbolize, among other things, ambition, perseverance, and the drive to overcome obstacles until success is obtained (source). As an ambitious, goal-oriented person, I am like the dragon, always aiming for the moon and expecting the world from myself. When I first started crafting, I was very passionate about what I made and kept trying new things. However, the more my skills grew, the more ambitious my goals became, and I eventually hit a roadblock that filled me with frustration and self-doubt. With the help of my friends and fellow artists, I was able to uncover the root of my discontent and how to overcome it. This piece represents my desire to become the passionate, innovative artist that I used to be without throwing away my drive to aim high, thus reconciling my past and present selves. It serves as a reminder that focusing too much on results can cause one to be consumed by one's ambitions. Additionally, this piece represents my promise to become a guiding light and pay forward the kindness I was shown throughout my artistic journey. I only got to where I am today because of the people who took the time to favorite, comment, critique, and purchase my crafts. These people are my stars, and one day, I hope to be as giving and selfless as them. I will start by being like the moon, reflecting the light I was given in hopes of continuing the cycle of kindness.

Aaahhh, all those swirlies are so delightful, yes indeed. Gives it an elegant sense of motion and life, and the little loops make me think of fish scales, which I think is very fitting given the stories about how koi fish can aspire to become dragons if they can manage to make it up and over a certain waterfall.

The very tip of the tail looks a tad unbalanced. Were it me I would have tried to put the same number of curls on both sides, but perhaps there is some symbology in the asymmetry that I'm missing.

I think a darker background would work better for showcasing this piece. The pale silver of the wire doesn't stand out that much from this lighter colour, though I do like how you've positioned it to line up with the curls of the backdrop pattern. The translucent crescent does present some challenges there, however, since that pale violet would be harder to see against, e.g. a black background, or have its hue distorted by a colourful one. Trying to find something that doesn't emphasize one part over the others is a problem I encounter now and then with photographing some of my own crafts that contain both light and dark elements (and translucent ones, and shiny ones, and sometimes glow-in-the-dark ones too because at that point why the hell not?). I think that might be why I like making collages of multiple photos: I can feature each part in a way that shows it off in the best light. That's an option you could consider for your pieces.

The moonstone "pearl" in the mouth too is a nice shout-out to dragon mythology, and how the treasure guardian dragons carried pearls that they could use to multiply the riches of the earth. And that's kind of what you do, isn't it? Take all these disparate shiny bits and bobs and turn them into something more.
