Normally, I try to stay away from mainstream series since tons of jewelry pieces already exist for them. However, I recently got into Star Wars, watching all of the movies except for Revenge of the Sith (and somehow ended up liking the character that a lot of people seem to dislike...again); when I saw the three-bladed lightsaber design, I wanted to challenge myself by making a wire version of it.
Lightsaber effects created using Photoshop.
Materials: Silver non-tarnish artistic wire (20-22 gauge), Silver Lined Red Bugle Beads, Garnet Dark Red Swarovski 6mm.

In a Galaxy Far, Far Away....

I have to say this is a rather unique light saber that I've seen so far. Not only does it look rather well made, but it has the luxury of being worn around the neck, lol. The craftsmanship on this is outstanding- I cannot figure out how much patience took to making this. Everything is wired together nice and neat, and there's no error that I can easily spot (from a novices point of view). I rather like how you're able to wrap a small bead at the end, so it can dangle underneath the light saber. I think going for your own unique version of it helps give it that more jewelry look to it, and if this was a real one that could fit in one's hand, it would be very fancy indeed.
My only gripe with this would be the chain that connects from end to end on the saber's mini beams. I figure it must be there to help hold it all together, but other than that it's all right. The light saber effects could benefit from a softer brush, and maybe adding some red highlights from the glow would also help a bit in this picture. Another thing would be is to have a photo of it without the effects, from a different angle. That way people get a different view of it, and can see your work without the Photoshop effects (because it is quite marvelous).
Overall great job on this. I rather like how it turned out, and not being a Star Wars fan I would surely like to own something like this, even if it means just keeping it hanging at the end of my bed post. Keep up the great work, and may the force be with you.
